Get Connected

After Church Fellowship
Each Sunday after church, the Fellowship Committee provides light refreshments for our guests and congregation in the Fellowship Hall adjacent to the Sanctuary. Over coffee, punch, fruit, and dessert, we spend time chatting as a community, allowing time to make new friendships and strengthen existing ones. This is a great time for guests to get to know our members and learn more about the different activities and events occurring at the church. We hope you’ll join us!

Bazaar
Our Annual Woodlawn Bazaar brings together our church family and the wider community for a day of fellowship and fundraising. Visitors enjoy browsing handcrafted items, homemade baked goods, and unique treasures while supporting our outreach ministries. The warm atmosphere of our bazaar reflects Woodlawn's welcoming spirit as volunteers serve delicious food, share their creative talents, and build lasting connections with neighbors and friends.

Bingo
As a way to foster fellowship and get to know each other and our guests better, Woodlawn offers free Bingo the third Friday of every month at 6:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall. We have free prizes for the winners, and offer soda and snacks for sale for a minimal charge. Some of our past prizes have included $5 gift cards to Subway and Sweetbay. Bring your friends and neighbors and join us for fun and prizes!

The Klarman Exercise Group meets Tuesdays and Fridays from 9:30–10:30 AM in the Fellowship Hall for low-impact workouts focused on balance and stretching. Started by Howard Klarman when his senior class was canceled, the group grew as others joined his twice-weekly routine. Led by Joe Orts or Jim Wood, the group welcomes men and women year-round, with 8–14 participants depending on the season. Bring a towel, a broom or mop stick, and a mat if you want to join the optional floor exercises. It’s a social, friendly group—water is always available, and birthdays may come with a sweet treat. Come stretch with us and enjoy the fun!

Our lunch group meets at 11:45 AM on the second Thursday of each month (except July and August) at various local restaurants for good food and conversation. Venues are chosen by regular attendees, and new suggestions are always welcome. Favorites include Fourth Street Shrimp Store, Harvey’s, Olive Garden, and Village Inn. The monthly location is shared in The Woodlawn Window, our Sunday bulletin, and online calendar. Hosts Barbara Kuhn and Jane Orts contact the restaurant with an estimated headcount. To RSVP or confirm the venue, call the church office at (727) 822-4477, Tuesday–Friday, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM. Attendance averages 10–12, and all are welcome—singles or couples, everyone pays individually and enjoys friendly company.

Pet Blessings
The Pet Blessing ceremony is a heartwarming tradition where we welcome pets of all kinds – dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, fish, and more. During this special outdoor service, each pet receives an individual blessing, recognizing them as cherished creatures in God's creation.
We believe that all of God's creatures deserve to be treated with kindness and respect. This service provides an opportunity to give thanks for the companionship, loyalty, and unconditional love our pets provide.

The Room for Prayer, created in 2006, remains a quiet, sun-lit space on the second floor for reflection, meditation, and prayer. Open by appointment, it offers a chapel-like setting and a spiritual formation library for personal use.
From November through April, the church hosts Lectio Divina on Wednesdays, 6:15–7:15 PM—a guided time for Scripture meditation and Centering Prayer. For access or details, contact the church office at (727) 822-4477.
Woodlawn’s Faith Community Nursing (FCN) program, supported by St. Anthony’s Hospital, focuses on the health and well-being of body, mind, and spirit. Led by Wendy Siedlecki, RN, the ministry connects members with local resources, shares monthly health articles in the Woodlawn Window, and offers support through hospital and home visits. Wendy also brings back valuable insights from BayCare’s ongoing medical and wellness trainings. FCN recently hosted a free, informal CPR class for the community, helping equip attendees with life-saving skills.
